General Responsibilities

Job purpose

 

  • Assist the Director, US Income Tax with the U.S. Federal and State income tax return process.
  • Assist with various aspects of Federal and State tax provision

Major Accountabilities

 

  • Preparation of Federal, State and Local corporate income and franchise tax returns on a separate, combined, and/or consolidated basis.
  • Preparation of quarterly Federal, State and Local corporate income tax projections and payments.
  • Preparation of reconciliations and analyses of income tax accounts.
  • Preparation of state and local apportionment information, state modifications, and maintenance of state NOL schedules.
  • Responsible for various aspects of the state tax provision, including state rate analysis and state provision-to-return adjustments.
  • Assist in income tax planning & research, including modeling tax effect of law changes, transactions, etc.

 

Mandatory Requirements

Educational Background:        

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Masters’ Degree in Taxation preferred
  • CPA preferred

 

Professional Experience:        

  • Minimum 5 years of US tax provision and/or compliance experience, with a heavier concentration in State and Local taxation.

 

Knowledge

  • Income Tax accounting experience
  • Strong “hands on” knowledge in tax compliance
  • State income tax experience, with a good understanding of apportionment, separate, combined, and consolidated tax returns
  • Working knowledge of CORPTax and/or Onesource Tax Provision a plus

 

Skills:

  • Be an active learner that is detail oriented and a proven self-starter with the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities and complete work timely and accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to professionally represent the tax department when interacting with other functions in the Company and with outside advisors.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and time management skills to complete multiple assignments on a timely basis.
  • Strong process management and documentation skills.
  • Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft office products.
  • Ability to work effectively across a complex organization and with external third parties.
