General Responsibilities

Overview

 

As the Director, Experience Design you lead our UX/UI Design efforts across the Web, Mobile Web, Mobile Apps, and alternative devices.

 

You’ll work closely with executive partners and key stakeholders in product, technology, marketing and customer service to forge exceptional experiences across the entire portfolio of Hertz brands.

Mandatory Requirements

Core Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee UX, information architecture, and visual design for all mobile and web products.
  • Own the UX design process and deliverables including the creation of user flows, wireframes, prototypes and development-ready assets.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to Usability Best Practices and overall Brand Guidelines through the creation and use of Digital Style Guides
  • Build and maintains effective directional material including User Personas & Customer Decision Journeys
  • Manage the work, cost, and quality of 3rdparty design agencies and other vendors
  • Build and manage a team of high functioning UI Design team
  • Be the user-advocate by driving and evangelizing the use of behavioral analytics, voice of customer feedback and usability testing
  • Ensure clear, accurate and timely team deliverables such as wireframes and development-ready assets
  • Maximize resource productivity and provide reliable timeline assessments
  • Ensure proper team collaboration with Product Management, Development, QA, and PMO
  • Works closely with content and marketing teams to deliver complete experiences
  • Plans and executes User Testing, A/B testing and other forms of design optimization.
  • Inform digital product strategy, innovation agenda and aid in the development of product roadmaps.

 

Skills

 

  • 8+ years’ experience in digital, information architecture or user experience for a consumer brand
  • 4+ years’ experience leading design and implementation of complex digital experiences
  • Understands the art & science of interface design and can articulate thinking behind design decisions
  • Proven success managing and coaching talented UX teams
  • Proven success designing and optimizing web and mobile B2C experiences; B2B a plus.
  • Ability to incorporate research, strategy and analytics into design decisions
  • Mastery of UX interaction and design principles and deliverables including rapid prototyping, concept diagrams, user scenarios, wireframes, flows, experience maps, design patterns and annotated comps
  • Solid understanding of design fundamentals across mobile and web platforms, including typography, iconography and color
