General Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepares journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
  2. Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
  3. Provide data and support to corporate departments
  4. Analyze expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
  5. Investigate and report to the Manager any inconsistencies or improprieties.
  6. Analyze data to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed
  7. Prepares analytics pertaining to actual results /financial reports and measuring performance of critical processes
  8. Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions including strong communications with applicable business partners
  9. Ensures compliance with Hertz policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  10. Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy

Mandatory Requirements

Educational Background:

  • BS/BA in Accounting
  • CPA candidate preferred

Professional Experience:

2-4 years of hands-on accounting experience

 

Knowledge:

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Experience with Oracle ERP, Hyperion Financial Management and Blackline desirable.

Skills:

  • Ability to interpret and assess impact of information found in a variety of source documents and good problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work well and communicate with various leads within the organization and to work closely as required with other functional areas such as tax, treasury, and corporate finance
  • Thorough understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
