  • General Responsibilities

    Job purpose 

    Develop compelling copy for traditional and interactive media for Hertz and the strategic brands within the Hertz portfolio.

    • Deeply understand Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty and target segments to create meaningful, insight-based communications.
    • Conceptualize and create clear and persuasive copy for print, digital, social media, internal/employee communications, point of sale and collateral for Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty.
    • Simultaneously manage multiple projects with deadlines
    • Produce error-free content that adheres to the company’s style guide
    • Propose copy concepts and present underlying strategic thinking to business leaders
    • Interpret creative direction and adapt points from creative briefs into persuasive copy concepts
    • Write effective instructional copy and error messages for digital interfaces
    • Display strong business acumen – incorporates insights from business partner, research, etc. into content creation and overall creative output.
    • Collaborate with the Creative Services team to develop visual and copy ideas and ensure timely and accurate delivery of brand materials.
    • Revise, edit and proofread content as needed
    • Work closely with the Legal Department to ensure copy is truthful and trademarks and registrations are accurate
    • Understand the product offerings and target audience for each brand and have the ability to uniquely position them through tone of voice
    • Research competitors and keep abreast of market trends

    Mandatory Requirements

    Knowledge, skills and experience required

    Educational Background:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or Communications


    Professional Experience:

    • 3-5 or more years of experience as a professional copywriter preferably for an advertising or marketing firm
    • Experience working with Fortune 500 Companies a plus
