  • General Responsibilities

    The primary role of the Senior Director, Sales Segment & Channel Strategy:

     

    1. Provide strategic leadership with VP Sales Strategy & Operations in developing segment and channel specific strategies, based on a keen knowledge of segment and channel participants, markets, products and competitive landscape (traditional and disruptive).
    2. Participate with VP Sales Strategy & Operations in the growth planning for sales segments and channels, creating a roadmap for increased profitability and commercial excellence.
    3. Research and propose with VP Sales Strategy & Operations innovative strategies for sales segment and channel growth; increasing sales effectiveness in delivering points of difference to increase our position in value creation for Hertz and our partners.
    4. Lead segment and channel pilots with Sales VPs to test ideas that can be leveraged across segments/channels as a best business practice to instigate growth.
    5. Serve as an industry SME on behalf of Hertz in segment and channel forums, events and other stages to assert our industry perspective and ideas (goal).
    6. Provide leadership in developing best practices for measuring and optimizing strategic activities to drive data-driven decision making and excellence.
    7. Produce a set of holistic scorecards and reports to track and manage the impact of strategic activities. Regularly analyze competitive data – including pricing, market strategies, promotional activities – to inform segment and channel growth strategies and performance optimization.
    8. Pro-actively analyze segment and channel customer data to uncover insights and key takeaways that informs strategic planning, increases revenue and drives business value.
    9. Produce weekly and monthly reports, develop dashboards, consolidate, and validate data

     

    Additional responsibilities and core functions include:

    • Collaborate with Sales leadership to grow their existing relationships as well as to support their development of new relationships within segments and channels. Bring forth alternative strategies for growth, new tactics and support.
    • Design and develop analytical approaches and strategies to grow segment and channels.
    • Partner with Segment and Channel Vice Presidents to achieve business plan and grow.

     Key result areas: 

    • Revenue performance:  Drive deep and broad understanding of segment and channel to identify strategies that support and enable growth for Hertz business.
    • Collaborate with Sales Vice Presidents, Brand, Ecommerce and Revenue Management to align on metrics for measuring segment and channel strategies marketing spend performance and syndicate across the enterprise

    Mandatory Requirements

    Educational Background:

    • Undergraduate degree in marketing, business management, economics, finance, or related / relevant field required
    • Graduate degree preferred

     

    Professional Experience: 

    • 10+ years of professional experience within marketing, revenue management, E-commerce, sales, or related field
    • Must have demonstrated track record of critical thinking and strategic thinking; creating strategic plans, using data to inform business decisions, etc.
    • Experience with scenario planning and game theory is a plus

     

    Skills:

    • Demonstrated ability to work in, across, and with large teams
    • Established track-record of influencing stakeholders from other functional areas with limited formal authority
    • Strong background in strategic problem solving
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfort communicating across all levels within the organization
    • Effective organization and time management skills with ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines.
    • Advanced Microsoft Suite product knowledge (e.g., Powerpoint, Excel)
    • Proven verbal and written communication
    • Positive attitude
